Export delegation help grow demand for Australian genetics

Genetics Australia have had representation and a display at the past 5 China Dairy Expo’s. One of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the world, the Expo moves around major cities in China  to accommodate the large number of exhibitors and visitors from around the word.
The 2019 Expo was of importance as it was held in Tianjin, a major port city in north-eastern China and the home city of Genetics  Australia’s Chinese Distributor. Tianjin was also the 1st Chinse city to have a sister city relationship with Melbourne and in 2020 this relationship has been established for 40 years.
While Genetics Australia has not been the only Australian company represented at past Expo’s this was the first year Genetics Australia was supported by key Australian industry organisations. Joining GA were both Holstein and Jersey Australia and DataGene. Several seminars and presentations were conducted on a wide range of advantages in using Australian genetics. Topics of great interest to the Chinese were Feed Efficiency, Heat Tolerance, A2, health traits and the importation of Australian heifers.
From the 1st shipment of GA semen sent to China 2 years ago the demand has increased to the stage where China semen exports now represent more than 50% of total GA exports.
